PROBE serves the heavy duty automotive, mining and construction equipment industry through a national dealer network with a comprehensive range of services including sales and distribution of alternators, starters and associated spares, fully equipped workshop facilities for comprehensive electrical repairs and installation. PROBE also distributes maintenance-free batteries for industrial application, i.e. backup power supplies for electronic industry, U.P.S’s, radio and telecommunications photovoltaic, deep cycle, etc. Probe - Major Historical Milestones
- Probe was appointed MWD for General Motors in the Early 1970’s to distribute Heavy Duty Delco Remy products
- Probe became a National Wholesale Distributor for Delco Maintenance Free Batteries in 1996
- Probe in Partnership with Anglo American formed Probe Witbank to service the mines in the Witbank Region
- Probe was appointed National Wholesale Distributor for Delco Remy International in 2001
- Probe formed a joint venture with Tudar Brazil which entailed the distribution of Batteries for Africa in 2002
- Probe formed a partnership with the Royal Bafokeng Business Forum to service the Rustenburg mines
- Probe was appointed Wholesale Distributor for Prestolite UK 2008
- Probe purchased Free Start Batteries in 2007 thus creating a National Branch Network
- Probe added a Lead Smelter to the Probe Group in 2007 in order to comply with environmental responsibilities and legislation
