Probe Corporation supplies Danfoss Airflex® VC pneumatic clutches, engineered to deliver reliable, high-torque power transmission for demanding industrial grinding mill applications.

Designed for use on pebble, rod, ball, semi-autogenous (SAG) and autogenous (AG) mills, Airflex® clutches provide controlled, smooth engagement to bring high-inertia mill loads up to operating speed while reducing damaging shock loads on drive components.

The robust, air-actuated design supports efficient mill starting and operation, with benefits that include reduced mechanical complexity, minimal maintenance requirements, no lubrication requirements and automatic compensation for normal friction-shoe wear. The system can also facilitate unloaded motor starting and, where operating conditions permit, mill inching or jogging for positioning during charging, discharging and maintenance.
