Held from 8-13 November in Sodwana Bay on KwaZulu-Natal’s beautiful North coast, the Billfish 15000, hosted by the Dorado Ski Boat Club, draws hundreds of anglers from around the world.
Probe is again proud to sponsor this energetic annual event, the biggest deep sea fishing competition of its kind in the world. This will be the fifth year that Probe has both supported and competed in the Billfish 15000. With 50 boats booked to take part, the competition and entertainment both on the waves and on the shore are bound to make this another memorable experience. The Probe Billfish team, including two clients, will be on the boat Captain Fine skippered by Billfish legend and prior winner Michael Fourie, with his daughter serving as the gilly.
Probe service manager and Honorary Vice President of the Dorado Ski-boat Club, Maggy Lombard, says, “We’re so pleased the competition was given permission to go ahead this year and we’re ready to reel in the big ones! The Billfish 15000 is one of the highlights of the year and we’re looking forward to enjoying the festivities and camaraderie on and off the water with a great group of people – with COVID-19 precautions in place of course! Probe has some fantastic prizes lined up for when the fishing for the day is done, including our popular solar kits with inverters.
Probe will sponsor the weigh bridge and the by-catch of the day each day, as well as an overall tournament prize. Prizes lined up include inverters, compressors and batteries.

“This event is a very important one for the community, even more so this year as events have been restricted. We’re excited to be a part of it and look forward to a great few days of fishing,” says Lombard.
