It’s not quite Artificial Intelligence, but Probe has taken a big step in making use of information technology in the management of inventory.
In partnership with a specialised service provider, Probe has invested in a sophisticated inventory management system that puts replenishment and optimisation of stock into real time visibility. The system has already been implemented and is “live”.
The adage “if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it” has never been truer. Our new dynamic model takes into account a wide range of variables and the ability for these to provide high-level understanding of the impact of our daily processes.
We can monitor supplier delivery performance and best international prices consistent with quality; view excess and shortfall stock on a national basis and a great deal more in the drive to getting the right product, to the right place, at the right time and at the optimum cost. This means that Probe’s customers will greatly benefit through improved service levels related to availability and delivery.
